Kids Welcome – Family Friendly Kalamazoo Breweries

As anyone who knows me can attest that I love craft beer. Of course, this means I am a big fan of all of Kalamazoo’s breweries. I also have two small kids. That means finding time alone for my wife and I to get to these breweries is tough. That is why I am happy that many of the breweries here in Kalamazoo are family friendly. The feature kids menus and are always welcoming to kids. But I admit I have my favorites. Two of the breweries, Bells Eccentric Cafe and Latitude 42 stand out. My girls adore these places, and can’t wait for the opportunity to go to either.

Bell’s is the largest of the local breweries, and people nationwide are familiar with their brands, such as Oberon, Two-Hearted IPA, and Hopslam. But for us local folks we also know they have great food, which will hopefully get even better when the new kitchen opens in a month. The reason Bell’s is one of the girls favorites, is the large fenced in Beer Garden behind the brewery.  In the warm summer months it is not uncommon on Sundays to find a group of kids running and playing on the grass.  Every time we go to Bell’s, the girls hurry to eat their lunch so they can go play. I love it too. Once my meal is done, I can sit and watch them run and play with the other kids while enjoying one of the many cafe exclusive beers only available there. It is just a great way to spend a summer day.  –  http://www.bellsbeer.com

This small corner of the brewery is stocked with toys. This means that instead of sitting at the table waiting for their food, the kids can go and play. My girls love the chalkboard, small table with puzzles, and mini kitchen. I love it because not only do I get to eat good food and drink good beer, but I get to do it without much whining. Well, except for mine when my wife makes me go home. This space makes a busy brewery family friendly and is one of many reasons that we will be back. http://www.latitude42brewingco.com

Now it is your turn to vote. Where do you like to take your kids?
